BiographyRyder was born full term and very healthy. He is a beautiful, sweet, funny and loving little boy and brother to Aaliyah. The 3 of us are very close, so much love in our house. End of January 2015 i became concerned about Ryder. He threw up at the end of November and again at the end of December. Once he started at the end of January and my daughter had been completely fine, i was ruling out gastro. After numerous doctors, hospitals and peadiatrician apps, we always left with a diagnosis of abdominal migraines or gastro/reflux problems. I never accepted this diagnosis and few days after we were discharged from hospital, he became off balance and one of his eyes turned in. Again i was told it was nothing so i took him to optometrist and there they said he had papilloedema caused by intracranial pressure. From there i went straight to Womens and Childrens Hospital. Long story short, he had a ct scan that showed a large tumour in his brain. Less than 2 days later he had it removed. He has suffered many effects from surgery including, meningitis (treated), he couldnt swallow, close his mouth, talk, drink or have any facial expressions. He couldnt walk or stand by himself. He has ataxia in the right side of his body. He couldnt see properly. His talking, eating and vision has improved alot and hoping the rest will follow. The tumour is a Medulloblastoma, a very aggressive embryonal tumour. Hes completed 6 weeks of radiotherapy and is now up to cycle 2 of 9 of chemotherapy. Hes become very scared, refuses to leave the house but has also been incredibly brave and cooperative. Im so proud of him and im trying to do whatever i can to make him happy (and hopefully one day smile again).
