BiographyA bright and happy little baby, Grace was meeting all of her milestone. At 8 months old we noticed that the movement and strength in her legs was declining. We booked a check up with our GP who immediately referred us to our Paediatrician. We had an MRI that afternoon to determine what was causing the loss of movement. The MRI was stopped halfway through and we were moved into a consult room. The doctor on call explained there was a cancer like mass in her chest and around her spine. Our world just stopped.
We drove to the Queensland Childrens Hospital that night. She had surgery the next day to decompress her spine. The biopsy of the tumour confirmed it was Neuroblastoma and Grace started chemo 1 1/2 weeks later. We have temporarily moved to Brisbane for her treatment, 200km from home. We are 5 of 8 cycles through her treatment. Grace has been so bright, bubbly and resilient throughout this journey. She is the strongest little girl and we are so proud of her.
