Biography

After 7 length years of IVF we finally fell pregnant with our little miracle.
Pregnancy went well up until 20 weeks scan where Lelahn was measuring smaller than he should have e and that he also had a dilated renal pelvis. Weekly scans were done with the MFM team to monitor his growth and that of his renal pelvis.
I was booked to be induced at 39 weeks due to his size however went into labour spontaneously at 38+5.
At 24 hours old Lelahn had his first ultrasound and another test for his renal pelvis where they found he also had a hypospadias. Lelahn was born on the 1st percentile for size and has maintained that line of growth throughout life. At 3 weeks old Lelahn had his first hospital admission for 2 weeks due to a bug in his stools and being unable to keep any fluids in.
Lelahn has his 1st surgery 6 days after his first surgery to try and repair his ureters and put stents in to reduce the damage to his kidneys and repair his hypospadias. Just after his second birthday he had the stents removed and again was closely however ended up needing a Vesicostomy done just before his 4th Birthday due to continuous UTIs one in which left his hospitalised for 3 weeks due to sepsis and a difficult bacteria to control. This surgery made a huge difference to his quality of life as he no longer required nurofen nightly before bed.
Along with these issues Lelahn suffered chronic ear infections and shortly after his 3rd birthday Lelahn has Grommets and Adnoids done.
Among these issues we regularly had appointments with his paediatrician to monitor growth and from 4+ months I had questioned different development milestones and we started on early intervention. At 12 months old he was diagnosed with Global Developmental Delay and is still yet to meet some milestones and is currently hitting 12-24 month milestones.
During this time we continued to have significant issues with pain and sleep as well as balance and co ordination and after eliminating gluten from his diet we finally got into neurology and was diagnosed with Ataxic Hemiplegic Cerebral Palsy.
